Description
Spectacular 19th-century French import.
Introduced in 1869, this richly fragrant heirloom variety is widely regarded as one of the handsomest peonies. Very large, lemon-white double flowers are strongly suffused with yellow from hidden stamens and staminodes when they open. They then change to pure white. Flat at first, the 15–16 cm blooms develop into large balls.

- PruningRemove spent flower stems after flowering to maintain an attractive bush type perennial all summer long.
- Winter CareNone, except to mulch the first winter. Remove in early spring before growth starts.
