Description

Produces the darkest foliage of any astilbe
In mid to late summer, it bears lots of large, long-lasting plumes, each of which consists of hundreds of tiny, purple flowers tinged in blue. During the rest of the season, it's the divided, fern-like, extremely dark green leaves of Black Pearls that steal the show. Grows easily in regular to moist soil when the earth is not allowed to dry out.
